 Startup India “PunjabYatra” is a platform for entrepreneurs to realize their dreams by incubation offers from State Incubators and by providing mentorship to take their ideas to the next level. This activity aims to spread awareness about the Startup ecosystem and scout aspiring & grass root entrepreneurs. It is a welcome step to enrich your ideas. These introductory cum inspirational words were delivered by Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Kumar Sharma, Vice Chancellor I. K. Gujral Punjab Technical University. He was inaugurating a Boot Camp at University main campus under the Startup India “PunjabYatra” project. VC Prof. Sharma briefed the project Startup India “PunjabYatra” with the participants of Boot Camp. He said that these camps are presenting initiative to promote startups, ideation workshops and idea pitching sessions. 
In his addressed Vice Chancellor announced free space, work place to nurture startup idea at IKGPTU campus with the support of Punjab Govt. Students applause over this opportunistic offer. 
University invited students & faculty members from various institutions, and also the persons with innovative ideas related to entrepreneurship. 250 plus participants participated in two Idea Pitching Sessions and attended Train the Trainer Workshop, Ideation Workshop. IKG PTU provided on spot registrations for the participants who were not registered earlier through the portal for the boot camp. During this activity some case Studies & motivational Talks of successful Entrepreneur from Punjab were also organized with audience. 
Welcome note delivered by Dean (R&D) IKG PTU Dr. A. P. Singh. He said that “PunjabYatra” is bringing out awareness about the Govt. policies and incentives under the startup scheme and would provide an opportunity to the youths to turn their innovative ideas into reality. The Yatra aims to reach out to and sensitize more than 25000 students across Punjab. 
Dr. Vivek Aggarwal, Nodal Officer, Boot Camp at IKGPTU said that the main objective of the Startup Yatra is to motivate the youth, create self employment, upgrading the skills of entrepreneurs and to provide them support to set up their units under professional guidance. Startup Yatra includes 19 Van Stops and 9 Boot camps at various educational institutions in the state and IKGPTU was the one of its stop for Boot Camp. 
The aim of the YatraVan or Boot Camp is to travel across the state to educate university or college students about the Punjab Government policy for Startups, Startup India and Stand up India Scheme. 
Acceleration program will be organized on 5th Feb at Mohali for ideas shortlisted in boot camps which will be followed by Finale on 06.02.2019. Cash awards will be given to top 3 ideas amounting to INR 40,000, INR 30,000, INR 20,000 in each of the five sectors i.e. Social Sector, IT Sector + Digital Marketing and E Commerce, Health and Wellness, Agriculture and Manufacturing. Free incubation space will also be given to top shortlisted ideas. University Dean Dr. N.P.Singh, Registrar Dr. Sukhbir Singh Walia, Startup India Punjab Yatra Project Head –    Mr. Amit Sharma & Operation Manager Mr. Ashok Kumar, Punjab Startup Cell    Manager Mr. Ashish Puri & Coordinator Ms. Gurpreet Kaur from Punjab InfoTech Department of Industries and Commerce Punjab & other University officers, faculty & students were also present on this occasion.
