Showing the right path to society is a Primary responsibility of every educational institution: Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Sharma

 I.K.Gujral Punjab Technical University organized One day  D-addiction (Anti-narcotic) Awareness program in collaboration with Health Welfare Department Kapurthala. On the inaugural of this event, message of Vice Chancellor Dr. (Prof.) Ajay Kumar Sharma was read by the moderator. It is in the message that showing the right path to society is a Primary responsibility of every educational Institution. University is directly associated with society and this is our duty to aware people about Day D-addiction. VC’s message inspired the youngsters to work in the cause of social reform by creating anti-drug chains. 

On this occasion, Officiating Registrar, Dr. Sukhbir Singh Ahluwalia, said that University is organizing maximum awareness campaigns in surrounding areas and every possible assistance is being given to the government representatives of the district for the purpose of promoting better works, public works. He shared that it is a matter of pride for the district Kapurthala, who has been playing a leading role in the state by continuously running awareness campaign from the last six months.

Dr. Yadwinder Singh Brar, Director Incharge of the University’s main campus shared his experiences and said that it is extremely important for the youth to join such projects to fulfil the big goals of social welfare. He cited the example of strengthening the relationship between teachers and students and said that their sacred relation can be accomplished with social responsibility. 

Joint Registrar (Students Welfare) Dr.RPS Bedi, congratulated everyone and motivated youth power to work together. He shared statistics about the University’s NSS & other wings, who are participating on regular basis in various awareness projects. 

Kapurthala District Health Officer Dr. Kuljit Singh said that those who make intoxicants should not be separated from the society, but considering their moral responsibility towards them, all should work to improve them, to get rid of them. Senior surgeon Dr. Gurdev Bhatti was also addressed this session. 

A play depicting drug-free society was also organized during the event, in which all University campus students participated. University’s Kapurthala Campus Students got first position, the second position achieved by Amritsar Campus and Batala Campus was on the third place. 

During the event NSS Coordinator Assistant Registrar Paramjit Singh Gill, NSS Program Officer Dr. Anshu Bhasin, NSS Program Officer Dr. Sarabjit Singh, Faculty member Ajay Sharma (Batala Campus), Tarun Kanodia (Amritsar Campus) were also joined with volunteers.
