IKGPTU signed MoU with University of South Alabama USA

– Both institutions will work together on 06 key points related to academic excellence

– University is committed to provide opportunities for education of international standards: VC Prof (Dr.) Ajay Kumar Sharma

Jalandhar/Kapurthala: With the objective of imparting high academic knowledge to the students, faculty and staff, I.K Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKGPTU) has signed another foreign MoU with University of South Alabama of United States of America (USA). Through this MoU (agreement), both the universities will work together on six key points to promote higher academic competence. The proposal of this agreement was initiated by IKGPTU’s Planning and External Planning (P&EP) department. On behalf of IKGPTU, Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Kumar Sharma has signed this agreement, while on behalf of the University of South Alabama USA, Associate Vice President Richard W. Carter has given his signature.

While expressing satisfaction on this agreement, Vice-Chancellor Prof (Dr.) Ajay Kumar Sharma said that IKGPTU is committed to provide high academic exposure of international level to its students, faculty, staff and continuous efforts are proving this commitment. The University keeps on exploring new opportunities through efforts. He said that the current resource pool can only be moved forward with a global approach and such agreements give an opportunity to closely observe, understand and implement the quality education work going on at the global level in one’s own country

Prof (Dr.) Yadwinder Singh Brar said that under this agreement, faculty members, researchers, administrative staff will be able to visit each other’s institutions to conduct research, learn new methods of studies and get information on various topics related to development work. The student exchange programs will also be run between the two institutes, short term courses, and transfer of marks between each other’s students according to the syllabus at degree-diploma level, jointly conducting seminars, conferences and creating profit-related opportunities between the two institutions, goals have been set.

In his message, University Registrar Er. Sandeep Kumar Kazal described this achievement as an initiative to create new opportunities for University stakeholders. He said that such agreements are necessary and special for the university academic departments as well as the university management staff. Director College Development Dr. Balkar Singh, Director P&EP Dr. Ekonkar Singh Johal and others were present on this occasion.
