IKGPTU pays tributes to Shaheed-E-Azam S. Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, Rajguru

– Registrar Dr. S.K Misra appealed staff to visit Khatkar Kalan on Shaheedi Diwas

Jalandhar/Kapurthala I.K Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKGPTU) remembered the martyrdom of Shaheed-e-Azam Sardar Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, Sukhdev on Wednesday, 22nd March. Saluting the martyr Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, Sukhdev in a function organized in the seminar hall of the university, flowers were offered and tributes were paid to them. Under the Command of University Registrar Dr. S.K Misra, the staff, faculty and students sung the national harmony song and remembered the sacrifices of the martyrs.

Registrar Dr Misra was the chief guest of the ceremony. He reiterated the message given by the Chief Minister of Punjab S. Bhagwant Singh Mann from the stage, in which instead of staying at home on the public holiday on March 23, all should reach martyr Bhagat Singh’s land Khatkar Kalan (District Nawanshahr) to pay homage to him. Registrar Dr. Mishra appealed to the university staff, faculty and students to reach the memorial of Shaheed Bhagat Singh at Khatkar Kalan (District Nawanshahr). Faculty member Dr. Chandra Prakash delivered the welcome address in the ceremony.

The Student Welfare Department of the University organized this function. Dean Student Welfare Prof. (Dr.) Gaurav Bhargava kept his message from the dais regarding goodwill, nation building, patriotism and working in the interest of the country. He expressed his gratitude to the NSS and NCC wing of his department, Cultural Affairs wing and Languages department of the University for working together as a team in this function. He clarified that due to the public holiday on March 23, the function has been kept in the university on March 22 and everyone has been appealed to reach the memorial of Shaheed Bhagat Singh on March 23. The stage was conducted by Assistant Professor Dr. Sarbjit Singh Mann, while the students were prepared for the cultural events of Rashtra Bhakti by Assistant Director Cultural Affairs Sameer Sharma
