IKGPTU offers unique & special benefits to Its stage performing students

  • Jalandhar / Kapurthala : I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKGPTU) will give special benefits to the students who perform better in various arts in cultural events on stage. These benefits will be associated with their academic advancement. Initially the University will provide benefits to the students of its main campus and the other constituent campuses. In addition, the university will provide financial assistance to the Master Quiz team in various quiz programs to purchase special apps for reading or purchase books. Special art galleries will be set up at the university for the best painting students.

    In the interest of the students, these initiatives have been initiated by the Vice Chancellor of the University, Rahul Bhandari, IAS, who is also the Principal Secretary, Technical Education & Industrial Training, Govt. of Punjab. Sh. Rahul Bhandari, IAS was participating as Chief Guest in the inaugural special cultural function of the University on Thursday. Raising the morale of the students from the stage, he said that it is necessary for cultural harmony to perform the cultural activities of inter state. He said Inter state culture activities can help to give freshness to the students as well as education & learnings. He directed the University Dean’s Academic Office and faculty to organize a big cultural program every month by dividing it into student interest zones. The program was jointly organized by the University’s Department of Youth Affairs and the Student Council.

    The program started with lighting the lamp & Sri Ganpati Vandana and then Pavitra Shabad Gayan was delivered from the stage in very respectful manners. The event was specially supported by Intach, a well-known organization associated with cultural programs. Welcoming remarks were made by Dean Academic Prof. (Dr.) Vikas Chawla while the motion of thanks was read by Prof. Avtar Singh Buttar. Punjabi Bhangra was presented on the stage by the students of Mohali Campus, while Giddha was presented by the students of the main campus. Students successfully performed Gujarati Dance Garba, Himachali Dance Nati from the stage.

    Stage was conducted by assistant Professor Dr. Sarabjit Singh Mann, Student Mansi Jha, Atamjivanjot Kaur, Rosenmeet Kaur, Hardik Bajaj. On this occasion, Dr. Sukhdev Singh and Advocate Kanwaljit Singh from Intach side were especially present. Both also encouraged the students from the stage. University Registrar Dr. S.K Mishra, Dean Yadwinder Singh Brar, Prof. (Dr.) Neel Kanth Grover, Controller Examinations Dr. Paramjit Singh and other faculty members and officials were also present on this occasion.
