IKGPTU Vice Chancellor Dr. Mittal appreciated the efforts of “PITEX 2023”, thousands of visitors reaching the stall of the university.
Jalandhar/Kapurthala/Sri Amritsar Sahib Punjab International Trade Expo “PITEX 2023” is a unique amalgamation of development, trade and exemplary work of the state. Such events not only provide encouragement but also provide opportunities to exchange best practices. Along with this, educational institutions also get opportunities to present the efforts of their students at the international level. These are the words of Dr. Susheel Mittal, Vice Chancellor I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University (I.K.G. PTU) Jalandhar. The Vice Chancellor Dr. Mittal had visited the Punjab International Trade Expo in Sri Amritsar Sahib on Friday. He got various activities information from the organizing board of the trade expo and the team of IKGPTU Amritsar Campus. He also inaugurated the stall set up in the expo by University students. Principal Secretary of Punjab Tourism Department, Rakhi Gupta Bhandari, IAS was also present on the occasion. This expo started on 7th December in Amritsar, which will continue till 11th December. University Registrar Dr. S.K. Misra has especially taken the initiative to participate in this trade expo considering it as a better platform for the students.
Upon reaching the trade expo, the IKGPTU team was welcomed by Saurabh Sharma, Deputy Registrar. Saurabh Sharma said that the university team has organized an exhibition of its startup ventures here, which include Pooja Purohit App, Immuno etc. The University is providing information to visitors about its Incubation Center of the University. The university has also established a Business Incubation Center to develop students’ ideas into commercially viable entities.
During this visit & event, Vice Chancellor Dr. Mittal and Principal Secretary of Tourism-Cultural Affairs Rakhi Gupta Bhandar, IAS, also held a meeting in which there was discussion on establishing a link between the academic work of the university and such trade fairs. Possible collaboration between IKGPTU and the Department of Tourism and Cultural Affairs to facilitate tourism in the state was also discussed. IAS Rakesh Popli, Additional Director of the department, was also present in the meeting. Meanwhile, he also visited the University stall. Thousands of visitors are reaching the University stall every day.
