IKG PTU moved Step ahead for internship & Employability Enhancement

• University singed three MoUs, joins hands with AIESEC, Internshala and NIELIT
• University will start joint Portal for Training and Placement Purpose
• University takes initiative by following its commitment with students to make them employable: Vice Chancellor Prof.

By taking one more step ahead to fulfil its commitment with students, I K Gujral Punjab Technical University joined hands with three Nationally-Internationally recognized organizations. This step ahead is for the internship of the students and their employability enhancement. University signed three different Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) with different organizations/bodies i. e. National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT), International Association of Students in Economic and Commercial Sciences (AIESEC) and Internshala on May 30. This was done during the Meet of Training & Placement Officers (TPOs) of all IKGPTU affiliated Colleges.

During the event Prof. (Dr.) Ajay K. Sharma, Vice Chancellor IKGPTU, said that at global level, it is a fact that as compared to pass out numbers, the employability is less but now the time is to find solutions. He motivated all TPOs and said that we are working in a chain module and we have to hammer on damaging factors. He asked everyone to submit suggestions for the improvement and ensured all for its better execution. Prof. (Dr.) Sharma said that he believes to work on ground not only on papers and he expect from all to start maximum ground work.

Vice Chancellor announced to start a common placement portal, where every college’s placement officer can give a call for common placement drivers & submit their best placements, their queries and their other initiatives. He invited all TPOs to start working in teams to identify problems and solutions.

Before the address of Vice Chancellor, a formal inauguration session was held in which University Dean RIC Dr. Anirudh Pratap Singh has introduced all the organizations/bodies who were present for MoU. He shared that AIESEC is the world’s largest non-profit youth-run organization who provides young people cross-cultural global internships across the globe. The second body NIELIT is an autonomous scientific society under the administrative control of Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology of Government of India. NIELIT offers various Training Programmes in the field of IECT to equip students with necessary knowledge of the key industry practices and skills to be fruitfully employed besides exposure to live projects and hands-on practical training. The last body was Internshala, which is India’s largest online internship platform.

On this occasion, Leaders of all three bodies Kishalaya Manager Inernshala, IFS Officer Rajiv Kumar DG NIELIT, Bipul Mayank Vice President AIESEC and from University side Deputy Director Corporate Relations Er. Navdeepak Sandhu were also on the dais. Assistant Professor Gazal Sharma conducted the stage.
