 IKG PTU among in top 100 in country in Engineering-NIRF Ranking

 I.K.Gujral Punjab Technical University, first state Technical University of Punjab, added another feather in its cap by getting 96th rank among all India engineering institutes. National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Govt. of India, announced these all India rankings on Monday. In this ranking IKG PTU positioned in top 100 engineering institutes of India. 
 
Chairman, Board of Governors (BOG) of University Dr. S. K. Salwan & Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Kumar Sharma dedicated this success to the hard work of University’s faculty, officers, staff and most important to students. 
 
Dr. Salwan said that University adopted best practices in past academic year 2018-19 and this is a matter of great pride that in a short span of time University has made it place among top institutes. “We at IKGPTU believe in imparting industry oriented values based engineering education which is not only helps the students in placements but also develops them as responsible citizens and current ranking is the outcome of this belief only” added Dr. Salwan.
 
Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Kumar Sharma congratulated IKGPTU family. He said that this is the reward of perseverance efforts made by University for achieving excellence in the field of higher technical education.  “NIRF follows very stringent process of ranking & after analyzing the academic strengths of the University, this ranking has been awarded to the University. The ranking shall further strengthen our efforts to serve the students in a better way” added VC Prof. (Dr) Sharma while appreciating his team for submitting timely information to NIRF.
It is worth mentioning that University has developed state of the art infrastructure on its campus and is the only State University which recruits only Ph.D holders as faculty. University has developed its research labs by procuring equipment worth multi-crores under an agreement with EdCIL a miniratna company of MHRD.
