FDP Concluded at IKGPTU organized by Electrical Engineering Department

Jalandhar : A FDP (Faculty Development Programme) on the subject “Green Energy and Power Systems” organized by the Department of Electrical Engineering at I.K.Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKG PTU) has been successfully completed. A total of 59 participants from various educational institutions across the country participated in this program sponsored by AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education).

In the closing ceremony, Dean Academic Professor (Dr.) Vikas Chawla was the chief guest and Dr. Balkar Singh, Director College Development participated as a special guest. Prof. (Dr) Chawla congratulated all the faculty members of the Department of Electrical Engineering, the participants and the organizers for this event. Dean P&EP (Planning & External Planning) Prof (Dr.) Y. S. Brar told in the progress report of the department that the graph of latest trends in green energy sector has increased in North India recently. He inspired everyone to join them by mentioning the work done by experts on projects like solar photo voltaics, biomass and small hydro.

In the first two days of the programme, experts elaborated on Power System Optimization and modern heuristic techniques for the benefit of young researchers. Researchers interacting with experts not only found solutions to their research problems but also identified areas of future research work. A special session on New Education Policy was held by Dr. Rajiv Chauhan, Senior Faculty of the University, while the Head of the Department, Dr. Gagandeep Kaur spoke on Green Energy and Electricity System. Dr. Naveen Kumar Sharma, the convener of the program, read the vote of thanks at the end.
