NEP 2020: It’s not Act; it’s purely people’s policy: Educationist Atul Kothari

  • National Education Policy (NEP) is purely people’s policy. This policy is for society. Each step recorded in policy, is set, based on the practical experience and actual need of the society. Now educationists from all over the country are working together continuously for this benefit to reach the people. The need is now to discuss this policy in the Faculty Development Programs (FDPs) in schools, colleges, universities, to make everyone aware of the effective steps of the policy. Along with this, all educational institutions have to make NEP task force and start work on it with the help of subject experts. This message is delivered by eminent educationist Atul Kothari, who is the National Secretary of Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas New Delhi. He was the keynote speaker and subject expert on the first day of a five-day webinar series on the implementation of National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 at I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKGPTU).

    The IKG PTU in collaboration with Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas, New Delhi is organizing Five Days Webinar Series on Implementation of National Education Policy 2020 from 18th August, 2021 to 24th August, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. to 12.00 P.M. The Directors/Principals/Faculty members of Constituent Campuses and Affiliated Institutes of the University were the participants of this webinar. In the inaugural session of the webinar series total 271 participants consisted of Directors/Principals/Faculty members of Constituent Campuses and Affiliated Institutes of the University participated.

    The primary objective of this webinar series is to disseminate the information of National Education Policy 2020 to all stakeholders of the education fraternity.

    The key resource persons of first day of webinar series, NEP and Vision for India were Prof (Dr.) Ajay Kumar Sharma, Vice Chancellor, IKGPTU, Jalandhar and Dr. Atul Kothari, National Secretary, Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas, New Delhi.

    In the inauguration session (Dr.) Ajay Kumar Sharma, Vice Chancellor, IKGPTU has talked about implementation of National Education Policy 2020. He motivated all the stakeholders of the education field to prepare the road map for adoption of this policy in true spirit for the benefit of the society. He also talked about immediate steps to be taken, challenges and strategy for adoption of National Education Policy 2020 with participants.

    Academician Sh. Atul Kothari, National Secretary, Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas, New Delhi was the inspiration for the participants emphasizing the need for developing a research based aptitude and be skillful. He focused on the need to make all the educational streams vocational by incorporating practical training in each course. He further added that the orientation of both faculty and students is necessary for implementation of NEP 2020.

    At the end, Prof (Dr.) Vikas Chawla, Dean (Academics) thanked to Prof(Dr.) Ajay Kumar Sharma, Vice Chancellor, IKGPTU, Jalandahar and Dr. Atul Kothari, National Secretary, Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas, New Delhi for their valuable lecture of NEP 2020 policy and its implementation in the educational institutions. Dr Chawla said that these motivational lectures shall be very beneficial for all the stakeholders of the education fraternity. He also thanked Dr. Nitya Sharma, Deputy Controller (Academics) and Co-Coordinator of this webinar series, Sh.Rajinder Dogra, Dr.Vivek Talwar, Sh. Deepak Sidana and the team for smooth conduct of the inaugural day of this webinar series.
