VC IKGPTU conferred with Fellow Award by Punjab Academy of Sciences
Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Kumar Sharma, Vice Chancellor I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University conferred with Fellow Award by Punjab Academy of Sciences. This award was given to Prof. (Dr.) Sharma during the 22nd Punjab Science Congress which was held on February 7, 2019 at DAV Institute of Engineering & Technology Jalandhar. The recognition was of his outstanding research contributions and achievements in the field of Engineering & Sciences. The award was given to him in the presence of renowned scientists & academicians. Prof. (Dr.) Masatoshi Watanabe, Mie University, Japan was the chief Guest of event.
On this achievement of VC Prof. (Dr.) Sharma, University’s Senior Officers, Faculties & staff hold “Congratulations Hour” with Hon’ble Vice Chancellor on Monday. In this hour Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Sharma gave his thanks remarks to the authorities of Punjab Academy of Sciences who selected him for this prestigious award. He also thanked to the Executive Council of Punjab Academy of Sciences. In his words he shared his dream that each & every student of engineering should contribute to development of science & technology. He inspired students to become researcher, scientists & entrepreneurs.
The citation presented by Academy was a brief of Prof. (Dr.) Sharma’s contribution in engineering, especially in electronics and electrical communication engineering. It is worth mentioning that Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Sharma has published 328 research papers, 12 books and supervised 27 Ph.D and 46 M.Tech theses. He has completed four R&D projects funded by Govt. of India. He was associated to implement the world bank project of 2009 million rupees for TEQIP-1 programme.
