Research should identify problem first & narrow down to domain: VC IKGPTU

A research should identify the problem first & narrow down to your domain. After literature review, find out the research gaps & try to fill those gaps. This is an expert advice of Prof. (Dr.) Ajay K. Sharma, Vice Chancellor I.K.Gujral Punjab Technical University to research scholars. He was addressing to research scholars during an inaugural session of a two days National workshop on "Academic Writing & Research Productivity" at University’s main campus. Vice Chancellor inaugurated this workshop as Chief Guest. It was organized by IKGPTU’s Knowledge Resource Centre. 

Addressing the participants, Vice Chancellor Prof. Sharma encouraged the participants to publish their research work in good quality research journals, not in paid ones. He appreciated the efforts of Team Knowledge Resource Centre to choose an important subject for this National workshop and call good team of experts to guide participants. Total 125 research scholars attended this workshop & explored their ideas on research strategies. Dr. B. Suthradhar, coordinator, National Digital Library IIT Kharagpur, Dr. Ajay P. Singh Professor Banaras Hindu University were the expert resource persons for the first day of workshop. Representative from Typeset Software, American Chemical Society, Springer Nature and Scientist D (CS) Ashok Rai were the resource persons of day two. Deputy Librarian IKGPTU Madhu Midha shared information regarding available resources at University’s Knowledge Resource Centre.
