Science Fest 2019

Science is the basis of any country’s progress; it is not necessary that science is the responsibility of a particular scientific community, Every common man can also create an interest in Innovation and Connect himself with science & Technology. National Science Day is celebrated on 28th February every year to honour great Indian Scientist C.V. Raman. He discovered famous Raman effect on 28th February 1928 and National Science Day is celebrated in memory of this discovery. Motivation of celebrating Science Day is to encourage young brains to take Science as their Career and excel in the field of Science. A Science fest was organised jointly by Department of Physical Sciences, Chemical Sciences and Mathematical Sciences at IKGPTU Main Campus on 5th April 2019 to celebrate National Science Day. District Education Officer M. S. Sidhu was Chief Guest for the event and inspired students to take interest in Science.

Dr. Rohit Mehra from Dr. B R. Ambedkar National Institute of Technology (NIT Jalandhar) and Dr. V.K. Garg from Central University Bathinda was the keynote speakers and shared their research experiences with students. Students express their idea related to Science in Poster making and Exhibition contests. Students of different departments also participated in a science quiz competition.
