Memorable inauguration of I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University Inter zonal Youth fest 2019
Youth Festivals always give message to move ahead towards victory with energy, enthusiasm and spirit. Their continuation is must. It is much require for the students of technical education specially. The educational institutes must continue these fests. This was the message of Vice Chancellor I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University Prof. Dr. Ajay Sharma. He was addressing the students as Chief Guest of inaugural ceremony of Inter Zonal youth festival 2019 at IKG PTU main campus. He said that it is a matter of pride that IKGPTU is hosting this youth fest in its own campus in newly built Sri Guru Nanak Dev auditorium. He gave detailed information of the work to be done by the university in future for the welfare of the students.
On this occasion, former Director Youth Affairs Guru Nanak Dev University Dr. Baljeet Singh Sekhon was present as special guest. During the lamp lighting ceremony, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Ajay Sharma, Dr. Sekhon, Dean Dr. A.P. Singh, Dean Dr. Balkar Singh, Registrar Dr. S.S. Walia, Joint Registrar Dr. R.P. S. Bedi were also present. The function started with recital of Shabad “Satguru Nanak Pargateya” by the students. University dedicated this youth fest in honour & respect to 550th birth anniversary of world Guru Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. First day, students of 36 Colleges competed for 15 items.
Four venues are made for the youth festival. Main stage was at Sri Guru Nanak Dev auditorium, second venue is seminar hall of admin building, third venue is seminar hall academic building and fourth venue is K.R.C Hall.
Bhangra competitions were held at main stage. The judges of Bhangra competition were Punjab Police DSP. Daljeet Singh, who is nationally recognized name in cultural activities, World renowned Folk Dance Artist Gurvinder Singh was 2nd judge and Retd. Principal Sukhwinder Singh was on chair as 3rd judge of the event.
The stage was conducted by students Upasna Seth, Himanshu Bhaskar, Simranjeet Kaur and Harleen.
