IKGPTU will adopt New Tools during the Affiliation process towards Transparency & Quality Education
Additional Chief Secretary Technical Education IAS Seema Jain chaired University’s Physical inspection guidelines meeting
Jalandhar/Kapurthala/Chandigarh New methods, tools must be used this time during the affiliation inspection of old colleges, new applicant colleges. These are the instructions of Additional Chief Secretary Technical Education and Industrial Training Department Punjab IAS Seema Jain. She chaired a high-level meeting in this regard on Friday with I.K.Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKGPTU) officials. The various affiliated colleges authorities were also part of this meeting. During the meeting, the university officials also shared information regarding prioritizing transparency during inspection of colleges, updating information online and use of performa of regulatory body AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education). The meeting was held through an online medium, in which representatives of various colleges across the state of Punjab also registered their presence. This meeting was hosted by University Registrar Dr. S.K Misra and Dean College Development Dr. Balkar Singh.
Additional Chief Secretary Technical Education and Industrial Training IAS Seema Jain said that the renewal or continuation of new colleges, new courses and ongoing colleges is an important exercise towards ensuring quality Technical Education in the state. The physical verification (inspection) transparency is an important step. She advised all to follow the instructions/norms strictly and the university should ensure that only competent and eligible according to the regulating body, colleges get the affiliation of the university. She said that the current era is of quality education and the educational institutions which are able to give quality education will move forward. She said that only quality educational institutions will raise the future of the students as well as the university and Punjab will move towards progress and prosperity. Registrar Dr. S.K Misra assured that the physical verification (inspection) will be conducted transparently, and the relevant rules will be followed. Dean College Development Dr. Balkar Singh also gave instructions to all applicant institutions to ensure necessary procedures, documentation & actual facts during the physical inspection.
