IKGPTU takes step ahead to provide Skill Based Education to Beauty and Wellness industry

 With an aim to focus on establishing an effective and efficient eco-system for development and imparting of skill based education, Now I.K.Gujral Punjab Technical University signed an another Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Beauty & Wellness Sector Skill Council (B&WSSC). This MoU will serve the purpose of Beauty and Wellness industry including relevant curriculum courses, information database, delivery system, standardization and accreditation to enhance the employability of the youth globally. B&WSSC will serve as a knowledge partner & extend domain knowledge expertise while contributing to the skill sets to IKGPTU students & society with specific focus on the skill development & training for the beauty & wellness sector. The MOU was signed by CEO of B&WSSC Monica Bahl & Registrar IKGPTU Dr. S.S. Ahluwalia in the presence of Prof. (Dr.) Ajay K. Sharma, Vice-Chancellor (IGPTU).

Briefing about the strength of this MoU, Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Kumar Sharma said that It is an Initiative to enhance Employment & to give maximum facilitation to students. He said that together the both parties will carry out joint activities including conducting the programs, developing curriculum, conducting research, developing study material and e-learning, acquiring students and trainers, train the trainers, certification, developing training facilities, organizing placements, internships, apprenticeship, on job training & industry visits in collaboration with their associates & partners.

Dr Ekonkar Singh Johal, Deputy Registrar IKGPTU shared that B&WSSC will provide IKGPTU, the necessary support in form of content designing, formulating training manuals and assessment standards for developing NSQF compliant programs at all levels. B&WSSC will also help IKGPTU to set up beauty & wellness specific and other relevant training facilities at different locations and support the training programs under government schemes including schemes of National Skill Development Corporation, Skill India, Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Kendra & others allowing students a vertical mobility into degree programs.

 

Ms Monica Bahl, CEO said that B&WSSC will recommend IKGPTU to its associates for any activity such as – research projects, corporate training programs, online and distance programs or management development programs etc. She assured that the aim is to provide skilling, giving career progression & create an environment of higher employability for our young and deserving talent of the country.
