IKGPTU student offered placement at Microsoft but chooses entrepreneurship and got funding from Microsoft.

IKG PTU student Nirmal Nambiar choose entrepreneurship over traditional employment. He was offered a package from Microsoft to build their first AI product manager, but he rejected it to pursue his ambition of building AI for India. Students are now attracted to the flexibility, autonomy, and potential for impact that startups offer, even if it means forgoing a higher salary initially. Currently IKGPTU Business Incubation Centre (BIC) is hosting 35 startups in various sectors. Nirmal’s startup called “Incubator” is a Mentorship Platform aimed at bridging the gap between aspiring professionals and industry experts. Inspired by his visits to remote parts of India and interactions with students from Tier 3 colleges, Nirmal identified the need for mentorship and guidance, prompting him to create a platform that facilitates knowledge exchange and skill development-PTU Business Incubation Centre provides access to resources, mentorship, networking opportunities, and support to help turn student ideas into viable businesses. Plus, being surrounded by like-minded individuals can be incredibly motivating and inspiring.
