Kapurthala, August 17, 2026: I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKGPTU), Kapurthala, entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ICT Academy with the objective of strengthening industry-academia collaboration and creating enhanced opportunities for faculty development, skill enhancement, research and industry-oriented academic initiatives.

The MoU was signed in the presence of Dr. Prof. Y. S. Brar, Vice Chancellor, IKGPTU, Dr. Navdeepak Sandhu, Registrar, IKGPTU, and Er. Mohit Jain, Assistant Registrar, Corporate Relations & Alumni.

Representing ICT Academy, the delegation included Mr. G. Sarvanan, AVP – Academic Operations; Mr. Lovetesh Kumar, Sr. Manager; and Mr. Babar Nazir and Mr. Abhinav, Relationship Managers – Punjab.

Under the MoU, IKGPTU will serve as a Nodal Institution of ICT Academy, facilitating technical and soft-skills training programmes for faculty members of the University and its affiliated institutions. ICT Academy will provide industry-relevant training in ICT domains, access to learning resources, domain-specific programmes led by industry experts, research opportunities and industry inputs for curriculum development. The collaboration will also support the joint development of new courses for teachers and exploration of ICT-related research areas aligned with evolving industry requirements.

The five-year MoU represents an important step towards strengthening technology-driven education and building stronger linkages between academia and industry. Through this partnership, IKGPTU aims to provide its faculty and students with greater exposure to emerging technologies, industry practices and skill development opportunities.
