IKGPTU organized Tech Startup Workshop titled “Connect and Grow” in collaboration with PSCST

    400 participants, mostly female students and some faculty members from different affiliated colleges and IKGPTU campuses participated in this brainstorming workshop.

    To promote entrepreneurship and to enhance the startup initiatives, I.K.Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKGPTU) organized a Tech Startup Workshop titled “Connect and Grow” at its main campus. This workshop was organized in collaboration with Punjab State Council of Science and Technology (PSCST), Chandigarh. Total 400 participants, mostly female students and some faculty members from different affiliated colleges and IKGPTU campuses participated in this brainstorming workshop.

    The event was mentored by Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Susheel Mittal and executed by Team of Startup Handholding and Empowerment (SHE) at university campus. Registrar Dr S K Misra sent his good wishes for the success of the event.

    It is worth mentioning that PSCST has launched the SHE (Startup Handholding and Empowerment) initiative for budding female entrepreneurs. SHE is a first-of-its-kind initiative supported by Govt. of Punjab intending to identify, nurture, and accelerate early-stage women-led startups in Punjab. Dr. Gazal Sharma, Nodal Officer at IKGPTU, SHE Initiative coordinated this workshop at Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Auditorium.

    Prof. (Dr.) Vikas Chawla, Dean Academics, IKGPTU, inaugurated the workshop and welcomed the august gathering. He shared the activities happening on the campus related to entrepreneurship and ensured to nourish and boost it further in the IKGPTU ecosystem.

    Dr. Rajneesh Sachdeva Director and HOD Department of Food Sciences & Technology was the convenor of the workshop and also motivated the female students to participate in such initiatives. Er. Navdeepak Sandhu, Deputy Director (CRA) IKGPTU shares his experience of such initiatives that were taken by the university in the past and also talks about how the lives of students are transformed by participating in such activities during their college life

    Dr. Dapinder Bakshi, Joint Director PSCST shared insights into SHE 2.0 initiative for female students. She shared the success story of SHE1.0 also and motivates budding female entrepreneurs to participate in SHE2.0.

    Manjula Salaria, A Social Entrepreneur in her session sensitizes the students about entrepreneurship facts and myths and shares her journey of transformation from a common person to a women entrepreneur in My Story Session.

    Mr. Satyendra Singh- CEO-TBI-IISER Mohali shared information about various govt schemes supporting budding entrepreneurs and also talked about what is required to prepare a business plan.

    Shakuntala Roy, Cofounder JvScan Pvt. Ltd. and SHE Ambassador shared her experiences of SHE1.0 and encouraged the female students to participate in different entrepreneurship competitions like SHE2.0.

    Dr. Gazal Sharma, Assistant Professor IKGPTU summarises the event and delivers the formal vote of thanks.
