IKGPTU organized One-Day Free Medical Health Check-up Camp

Jalandhar/Kapurthala ( ) The Centre for Extension and Outreach Activities (CEOA) of I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKGPTU), Main Campus, Kapurthala has organised a One-Day Free Medical Health Check-up Camp on April 7, 2026, in collaboration with Fortis Hospital, Jalandhar, to mark the occasion of World Health Day. Aligning with the global spirit of promoting preventive healthcare and well-being for all, the initiative aimed to spread awareness about the importance of regular health check-up and early diagnosis.

The camp was inaugurated by Prof. (Dr.) Susheel Mittal, Vice Chancellor, IKGPTU. VC Dr. Mittal appreciated the efforts of the CEOA for organising such a meaningful initiative on the occasion of World Health Day. He emphasised the importance of timely diagnosis in ensuring preventive care and enabling early treatment of health issues, particularly for the academic community.

The event was graced by the presence of Dr. Navdeepak Sandhu, Registrar; Prof. (Dr.) Balkar Singh, Head, CEOA; Prof. (Dr.) Y. S. Brar, Dean Academics and Prof. (Dr.) Satvir Singh, Dean Student Welfare, IKGPTU, along with Head of Departments, faculty and staff members of the University.

The camp received an enthusiastic response with over 165 participants, including students, research scholars, faculty and staff members registering and availing the services. A dedicated medical team led by Dr. Manav Sharma, Fortis Hospital, Jalandhar, conducted essential health check-ups, including Blood Pressure, Blood Sugar and ECG tests. Free doctor consultations were also available for all participants. The camp concluded with a formal vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Kapil Gupta, Coordinator, CEOA, IKGPTU.
