 IKGPTU & CSIR-CLRI will work jointly to promote Teaching, Research and Education 

  • MoU signed between both bodies to boost up the research & developmental activities 
To boost up the research & developmental (R&D) activities now I. K. Gujral Punjab Technical University signed an Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), a representing unit of Central Leather Research Institute Chennai. This MoU was signed by IKGPTU Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Kumar Sharma and Dr. P. Saravanan, Chief Scientist of CSIR on February 27, 2019. 
 
Briefing about the MoU Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Sharma said that after this MoU, CSIR-CLRI and IKGPTU will work jointly to promote Teaching, Research and Education. He shared that the scope of this MoU is to retain University as one of the esteemed collaborators for collaborative Academic, Research and faculty development programmes. Various activities will take place time to time depending on specific requirements of Students, Faculty as well as Industry. VC Prof. (Dr.) Sharma said that University shall send specific requirements seeking the expertise of CSIR-CLRI for various activities. IKG PTU shall extend the access of its infrastructural as well materials evaluation facilities to CSIR-CLRI in connection with joint activity. 
 
One this occasion, IKG PTU Dean RIC Dr. Anirudh Pratap Singh said that It is a proud moment that a PTU has signed MOU with a national body CSIR, who has primarily been engaged in R&D activities in leather and allied areas. This institution has developed and commercialized a number of processes, products & knowledge leads in diverse areas. He shared that CSIR-CLRI has Regional Centre for Extension & Development (RCED) at Jalandhar too, which is engaged in R&D and Technical support to industry activities related to leather & allied areas. University Registrar Dr. Sukhbir Singh Ahluwalia was also present on this occasion.
