IKGPTU celebrated 76th Republic Day, Vice-Chancellor Dr Mittal unfurled the tricolor flag

The 76th Republic Day was celebrated at I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKG PTU) main campus is full of patriotism. On this occasion Prof. (Dr.) Susheel Mittal, Vice Chancellor was the Chief Guest & Registrar Dr S K Misra joined the ceremony as guest of honor. The tricolor unfurl ceremony was performed by the Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Susheel Mittal. The deans of various departments, Senior faculty, officers and other staff of the university welcomed the Vice Chancellor in the command of Registrar Dr.S.K Misra. The national flag was saluted by the security staff with the tune of the national anthem.

The welcome speech in the program was read by Dean Students Welfare Dr. Satvir Singh. In the keynote address, Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Susheel Mittal shared the future plans of the University. He discussed efforts for Academic growth, bringing awareness to science education among school students before the new academic session. He praised the constitutional framework of the country and inspired all citizens to work equally. He congratulated everyone on Republic Day. During this, an honor ceremony for the security personnel, NCC Cadets & children is also performed. Before the event a plantation drive was also inaugurated by Vice Chancellor Prof (Dr) Mittal & Registrar Dr Misra.

On this occasion, Controller of Examinations Dr. Paramjit Singh, Finance Officer Dr. Sukhbir Singh Walia and others were present. The stage was conducted by Students Pragna of the Department of Computer Science Engineering. The cadets who participated in the NCC parade were Jaswinder Singh, Simarpreet Kaur, Aman Kumar, Arpit Dhir and the students who performed group song were Madhuri, Muskan, Bisman kaur, Aaarti Kumari, Surjit, Ritesh Rattu, Mehtab Singh Bhullar & Music Teacher Pankaj.

The Patriotic dance was performed by student Muskan, Isha, Sunakshi, Itisha, Keshav, Sajan and the giddha was performed by Prabhjot Kaur, Jasleen Kaur, Priya, Avreet Kaur, Harsimran Kaur, Pawaneet Kaur, Neha, Naveena, Anmolpreet, Bavleen and Banipreet. The cultural event was coordinated by CSE Department student Munish and president student council Hardik Bajaj. An event competition was also organized by the Civil Engineering Department and the winning students were Damanpreet Kaur, Jaswinder, Manroze, Aman.
