IKGPTU became the first state university to launch Infosys Springboard for its campuses & affiliated colleges across Punjab

– Both the institutions joined hands to participate on Industry-Academia collaborations

I.K.Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKG PTU) has joined hands with Infosys Springboard. With this, IKGPTU has become the first state university in Punjab to launch Infosys Springboard. Infosys Springboard launch ceremony took place in the main campus of the University on Monday, in which the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. (Dr.) Susheel Mittal was the chief guest. The ceremony was addressed by Infosys Springboard, Learning and Program Manager Ms. Meenakshi S through online mode. Principal Consultant Learning, Infosys Limited Ms. Kamaljeet Kaur graced the launch ceremony as the keynote speaker. The function was organized by the Training, Placement & Alumni department of the university. The welcome address was delivered by Deputy Director Er. Navdeepak Sandhu.

Chief Guest Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Susheel Mittal said that the collaboration & participation in this project is part of our objective. He said our target is to facilitate technical education through Industry-academia work together initiatives. Dr Mittal said that technical education is different from other traditional education. We need to work in the industrial environment. Our need is to be capable of immediately transforming into technology. He inspired faculty members from the stage to ensure visits of the students to industry every month. He also appreciates the initiative of Infosys springboard on free of cost education. He also shared his experiences with Infosys earlier in the overall development of students. Vice Chancellor Dr. Mittal said continuously linking with Industry can give new directions to the potential of the students with regular exercises.

Principal Consultant Learning Infosys Limited, Kamaljeet Kaur gave a demo to the students present about the courses available on Infosys Springboard. She also clarified that work on credit transfer of these courses will also be done in collaboration with the Board of Studies of the University very soon. He said that all the courses and subjects required by the market and industry are available on Infosys Springboard. Ms.Kamaljeet Kaur inspired the students as well as the faculty to take advantage of it. In the end, the vote of thanks was read by Dean Academics Prof (Dr) Vikas Chawla. All the senior officers and faculty members of the university were present on this occasion.
