Engineers are the tools or medium of success & Engineering is the solution to everything. We are lucky that our young generation, students are very close to this quote.They are more interested in science and technology today. Our duty is only to polish, to guide & to teach maximum practically to our budding engineers. May the path of every budding engineer be filled with success. This was the message of Dr. Susheel Mittal, Vice Chancellor, I.K.Gujral Punjab Technical University on Engineer’s Day. He was addressing the ceremony on Engineer’s Day at University’s main Campus Jalandhar-Kapurthala highway. He lit the lamp and opened the event as Chief Guest of the ceremony. Vice Chancellor Dr. Susheel Mittal along with all senior officials paid tribute to Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya by paying homage to his portrait. Event was organized by University’s Academics Department under the command of Dean Academics Prof.(Dr.) Vikas Chawla. Dean Prof. Chawla congratulated the students, the faculty on Engineer’s Day.

VC Dr. Mittal visited the various stalls opened by different academic (Teaching) departments of the University. These stalls were the showcase of entrepreneurial efforts of the university. All stalls were developed & run by the students only. They exhibit their entrepreneurial efforts and also open a science gallery, where the projects related to functional science, engineering exhibited successfully. The competitions between students for Clay Modelling, Painting, Project Display, Quiz & PowerPoint presentations were also organized. Event was attended by University Registrar Dr. S.K.Misra, Dean College Development Dr. Balkar Singh, Dean Students welfare Dr. Gaurav Bhargava & other faculty members and officials of the University.

Prize distribution took place in the second phase of the program, in which Vice Chancellor Dr. Susheel Mittal awarded all the winners of various items with certificates and medals.

In the competition, first position in Power Point Presentation was won by Manish Tiwari (B.Tech. CSE, first semester), second position was won by Priyanka Sharma (B.Tech. CSE, third semester) and third place was won by Lor Sandhu (B.Tech. Mechanical Engineering – 1st Semester ).

In the poster making competition, Neha (M.Sc. Fashion Designing) got the first position, Paras (B.Tech. ECE) got the second position and Upasana Seth (Management Department) got the third position.

In the quiz, first place went to the team of Abhinav Kumar – Shubham Poddar (B.Tech ECE, CSE), second place went to the team of Ajit – Madhav Sharma (B.Tech CSE) and third position won by Abhay Kumar-Anshu Kumar (B.Tech CSE) team.

In the programming contest, Mohammad Zaid Khan (B.Tech CSE-7th Sem) got first position, Prakhar Pandey (B.Tech CSE-7th Sem) got second position.

In the Rangoli competition, Khushi (B.B.A.) got first place, Sonakshi (B.Tech.) on second position and Rani Kumar (B.Tech.) got third position.

In face painting, Aanchal-Anshika got first prize, Rohit Manchanda – Arpit Dheer got second prize and Harsh Yadav-Abul got third prize.

In Model Making, Robin (B.Sc.-FT) got first position, Vivek Kumar Sonkar-Yashwant Kumar got second position.

In photography, Vatsala (B.Tech-M.E.) got first position, Kunal (B.Tech-CSE) got second position and Shakshi Nahar (B.Tech-CSE) got third position.

In clay modeling, Varun Thakur (B.Tech-CSE) got first position, Kamalpreet Kaur (B.Tech-EE) got second position.

In Collage Making, Sukhmeen Kaur (B.Tech-CSE) got first position, Darkirat Kaur (B.Tech-CSE) got second position and Sukhbir Singh (B.Tech-EE) got third position.

In the food stall, the team of Pradakshin, Nizam, Harmandeep got the first position, the team of Kajal-Komal got the second place and the team of Kunika, Shreya, Simran got the third position.

In Fun Games, Akanksha got first place, Mohammad Shahbaz Ahmed got second and Aditya Vashist got third prize.
