 Budding Engineers can celebrate Everyday as Engineering Day with innovation & initiatives: VC Prof. Sharma

Engineering is a lifelong study. It is full of surprises but for only those have the spirit to do something new every day. Best thing is that Budding Engineers can celebrate Everyday as Engineering Day by work on innovation. This was the message of Vice Chancellor I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Kumar Sharma. Message was conveyed to students in his absence during the concluding hour of weeklong activities as a tribute to Bharat Ratna Visvesvaraya Ji.

Budding engineers of IKGPTU Main Campus celebrated Engineers’ Day with a long week activities and total 12 events was marked only in two days i.e 19th and 20th Sept., 2019. The celebration marked various technical events viz: web designing, PLC circuit designing, CAD based designing, DIY/Structural Model making, Exhibition of hardware projects, Car Racing, Quiz, Ad-Mad show, Presentations with Power Point. The aim was to pay tribute to the greatest Indian Engineer Bharat Ratna Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya and enforce the concept that engineering is practicing the art of organized force of technological change.

The overwhelming participation in each event, 303 in total, exemplified the constructive and avant-garde youth power, structuring under the  guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Kumar Sharma, Vice Chancellor, IKGPTU. The function ended with thumping valedictory where prizes for all events were given by Prof. Dr. Y. S. Brar, Guest of Honor of the function. Dr. Brar emphasized the need of such events for engineering campuses, where focus is on the all dimensional development of the tech-honchos of tomorrow. He congratulated to the organizing team members Dr. Manoj Mittal, Dr. Anshu, Dr. Deepika, Dr. Rakesh Goyal and Dr. Amoljit Singh Gill.
