Let’s pledge to make Punjab as per martyrs’ dreams: Registrar IKGPTU
Jalandhar / Kapurthala: Our independence belong to our martyrs. The dreams of the martyrs were self-respect, equality in all classes and prosperity. Today is the right time for us to work together to create a dream Punjab. Let’s pledge to make a state, which our martyrs dreamt of. This message was read at I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University Jalandhar-Kapurthala on Wednesday during an event organized to pay homage to Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Shaheed Rajguru and Shaheed Sukhdev. The event was organized by the NSS department of the university. This message of Registrar Jaspreet Singh, IAS, was read out and a call was made for its implementation. University officials, faculty members, staff and students pledged to follow the path shown by the martyrs and floral tribute was given to the martyrs.
On this occasion NSS Department incharge Dr. Chandra Prakash told in detail about the great vision of Sardar Bhagat Singh at an early age. He also gave information about Shaheed Rajguru, Sukhdev and their family background. He also spoke about the various aspects of their sacrifice for the liberation of the country.
Dr. Satbir Singh, Dean Student Welfare Affairs, told the students about Sardar Bhagat Singh’s becoming Shaheed-e-Azam. He shared the facts of how the country stood by the vision of these young martyrs. He encouraged today’s youth to embrace the ideas of Shaheed Bhagat Singh in their personal lives. Meanwhile, information related to the museum at Sardar Bhagat Singh’s native village Khatkar Kalan was also shared by various speakers.
