 Dr. Varinderjit Singh, a faculty of I.K.Gujral Punjab Technical University Jalandhar-Kapurthala received an invitation from USA based Indiana University, Bloomington to join as guest faculty. Dr. Varinderjit Singh is working as faculty at IKGPTU in the department of Physical Sciences. 

In the last week of May 2019, this faculty member received an opportunity letter from Mr. Romualdo De Souda, Provost Professor of Chemistry and Physics Dept. Indiana University Bloomington. In this letter it is mentioned that visiting faculty’s appointment would be for an initial 12 month period beginning Nov. 01, 2019. During this one year guest faculty period Indiana University will pay to Dr. Varinderjit Singh 50,000 dollars and they are inviting Dr. singh for their research interests in relevant fields.

On this occasion, Vice Chancellor IKGPTU Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Kumar Sharma congratulated Dr. Varinderjit Singh and allowed him to accept this opportunity. VC Prof. Sharma said that international exposure is must for each and every faculty member. In global era, it is an important task for every educational institution to provide international opportunities to its Faculty members as well as students and the achievement of Dr. Varinderjit is great that he got success to prove himself at international platform. He said that University Board is encouraging all team IKGPTU to work on National International opportunities and get maximum exposure.
