IKG PTU Vice Chancellor inaugurated 3 days AICTE sponsored Teachers’ Training Workshop on Student Induction for Universal Human Values & Ethics (UHVE)
Every human being has its own inbuilt character and during the period of ages he/she experienced that whether inbuilt character is good or not. If we need to improve it in our character, then on the basis of feedback of our surrounded people, we should improve it with confidence and in positive manners. These positive words on human character and maturity were said by Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Kumar Sharma Vice Chancellor I K Gujral Punjab Technical University during the inaugural session of 3 days Teachers’ Training Workshop. This is an AICTE sponsored activity to train teachers on student’s induction for Universal Human Values & Ethics (UHVE). Total 150 faculty members from affiliated colleges and various Universities of Punjab and near states are attending this workshop. Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Sharma, shared about the vision and efforts being done by IKG PTU in the field of Value Education.
Dr. R K Soni, North West Regional Officer, Chandigarh (AICTE, New Delhi) also joined inaugural session and he shared about the mandate of AICTE, New Delhi. He shared that in this month 3200 faculties will be introduced with this mandatory induction program.
It is worth mentioning that AICTE, New Delhi has initiated a new mandatory program named Teachers’ Training Workshop (TTW) on Student Induction for all those colleges which are running AICTE approved course. In this program, all the faculties of the affiliated colleges will be sensitized on UHVE. For this, IKG PTU has been chosen to conduct 3 and 8 days workshops for all the colleges. To cater to this, there is a need to prepare teachers of UHV who can develop themselves to conduct this induction workshop for students of their colleges.

Regional Officer of AICTE North-West Zone, Dr. S. S. Ahluwalia, Registrar, IKGPTU, all the officers, Faculties of IKG PTU & Participants from different colleges and universities.
Dr. S. S. Ahluwalia, Registrar, focused on the need of the Value Education in current education system. IKG PTU has been making efforts with the core idea that “the role of education is to facilitate the development of the competence to live with human conduct”; and through that, to “contribute to the making of an undivided humane society”. Ultimately, it is as an effort for universal human good in a universal, rational, secular, understandable and realizable manner through education that facilitates development of human conduct.
