She earned her Bachelor’s degree (B. Com) from S. L. Bawa D. A. V, College, Batala (Punjab) (affiliated to Guru Nanak Dev University), in the year 2001, Master’s degree (M.A.) from Baring Union Christian College, Batala (Punjab) (affiliated to GNDU) in the year 2003. She qualified UGC-NET (English) in 2004. She obtained her M. Phil. degree from Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla (India) in the year 2005 and Doctoral degree (Ph.D.) from Lovely Professional University (India) in the year 2018.
Her 15 years of teaching experience includes her service as lecturer at prestigious Baring Union Christian College, Batala for 3 years and lecturer, Punjab State Board of Technical Education & Industrial Training, Govt. Polytechnic College for Girls, Jalandhar for 2 years. Since 2010, she has been serving as Assistant Professor, English at IK Gujral Punjab Technical University, Kapurthala. Presently, she is reporting in the Department of Humanities, Languages & Cultural Studies.
Her areas of interest (teaching) include English Literature, Communication Skills, Professional Communication, Research Methodology (Literature), etc. Her fields of special interest (research) include Fiction, Indian Writing in English, ELT, etc. She has published 11 research papers in reputed international journals. She has presented her research work & delivered invited talks in national & international conferences and seminars at Canada, USA, Singapore, Thailand, etc. Currently, she is guiding 1 PhD and 2 M.Phil. research scholars. Her research work has been recognized with Best Paper of the Session Award at International Conference on Government, Law and Culture (ICGLC-2014) held from Jan 13-14, 2014 at Toronto, Canada and ISER-ACN Excellent Paper Award at International Conference on Education and Social Science held on Dec 21, 2019 at Singapore.
Her academic & administrative responsibilities include Coordinator, Board of Studies, Humanities & Communication Skills, IKGPTU Affiliated Colleges (2014-2016), & (2016-2019), Coordinator, Board of Studies, Humanities & Languages, IKGPTU Main & Constituent Campus (2019-2021), Member & Coordinator, Board of Studies, Humanities, Communication Skills and Social Sciences, IKGPTU, Kapurthala (2021-23), Coordinator, BAJMC Programme of Open and Distance Learning, IKGPTU.
She has served as Faculty In-Charge, Department of Humanities, Languages & Cultural Studies for the period Feb 2020 to June 2021.
