Celebration of 134th birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna, Dr BR Ambedkar for the students of Electrical Engineering Department on 30th April 2025
On the occasion of 134th birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna, Dr BR Ambedkar Ji, a competition was organized for the students of Electrical Engineering Department in the department on 30th April 2025. During the day, Dr YS Brar, Professor & Head-EE explained the importance of Ambedkar Jayanti amongst the students of the department. It was explained that Dr Ambedkar’s lifelong dedication was protecting the rights of women, workers, and marginalized communities in India. In addition, he also tirelessly worked to mitigate the social discrimination, also promoting equal rights for all the citizens of the country. Dr. Ambedkar was born on April 14, 1891, in Mhow, located in present-day Madhya Pradesh. Belonging to a Dalit family, he experienced caste-based discrimination from a young age. Despite these challenges, he remained undeterred and chose education as his means to combat social injustice. He began his early education in Satara, Maharashtra, and later continued his studies at Elphinstone High School in Bombay.
During the day, competitions such as speech competition, poem competition and poster making competition was organized in the department during which most of the students participated with great zeal and enthusiasm. Dr Akhil Gupta AP-EE deliberated on the importance of organizing competitions amongst the students for the day. Dr Naveen Kumar Sharma AP-EE finally thanks the students and the university authorities for the conduct of this event.
In the event patronized by the honorable VC of the University, Sh. Susheel Mittal, he enlightened the students about the various social developments taking place in the modern society which are based on the teachings of Dr BR Ambedkar Ji. Dr. SK Mishra, Registrar, IKGPTU, congratulated the students for attending this event. Dr. Vikas Chawla, Dean of Academics, IKGPTU, inspired the students to further extend the outcome of this event for the benefit of society in whole.
