Alumni Talk on Innovation, Impact & Entrepreneurship

Office of Corporate Relations & Alumni, Centre of Training & Placement, IKG PTU and Institution’s Innovation Council successfully organized an insightful Alumni Talk at the Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Auditorium on 11 February 2026.

The session featured Mr. Nirmal Nambiar, Founder & CEO, AI Entrepreneur, and Ex-Microsoft Product Manager, who shared his inspiring journey from securing a ₹65 LPA corporate role to building his own AI venture working with global clients.

The program commenced with a floral welcome of the dignitaries, followed by the keynote address delivered by Dr. Navdeepak Sandhu, Registrar Cum Deputy Director (CR&A), IKG PTU, who encouraged students to pursue excellence, innovation, and purposeful growth.

During his address, Mr. Nambiar spoke candidly about the pivotal decisions that shaped his career. He reflected on his early professional phase at Microsoft, the skills he developed in product thinking and clarity of execution, and the defining moment when he chose to step away from a high-paying corporate position to pursue entrepreneurship.

He emphasized that growth begins with taking ownership of one’s ambitions and making intentional choices aligned with long-term impact.

Throughout the session, he highlighted the importance of clarity, impact determination, and contributing meaningfully to society. He encouraged students to focus on long-term contribution over short-term validation and courage over comfort.

He also shared insights on the difference between Big Tech innovation and startup innovation, lessons learned from startup challenges and pivots, building international credibility as an Indian startup, and the evolving landscape of AI and intelligent systems.

The interactive Q&A session witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, who engaged in discussions on placements, entrepreneurship, AI careers, and balancing ambition with sustainability.

The event concluded with a felicitation ceremony and a vote of thanks delivered by Er. Mohit Jain, Assistant Registrar (CR&A), IKG PTU, expressing gratitude to the speaker and all contributors for making the session meaningful and impactful.

The Alumni Talk left students inspired with a renewed understanding that true success lies not merely in achieving positions or packages, but in creating measurable and meaningful impact.
