Academician from Nottingham Trent University UK visited IKGPTU’s Civil Engineering Department
– Interacted with senior faculty and students, discussed future possibilities in the subject of civil engineering
Jalandhar/Kapurthala Professor (Dr.) Amritpal Singh Sagoo, an academician of Nottingham Trent University, United Kingdom (UK) visited I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKG PTU) during his visit to India recently. He visited the Civil Engineering Department of the University. Professor (Dr) Amritpal Singh Sagoo is the Head of the Department of Construction Management and Quantity Surveying at Nottingham Trent University. His visit was to closely understand the academic capacity, capability of the host university to explore various academic possibilities for future collaborations.

University Vice Chancellor Prof (Dr) Susheel Mittal described the arrival of international level academicians at IKG PTU as the beginning of a better tomorrow and praised the Civil Engineering Department for this initiative. Registrar Dr. S.K. Misra considered the visit of the Professor of Nottingham Trent University as an important step for the university faculty & students and said that IKG PTU is committed to provide international level exposure to its students & faculty.

Dean Academic Prof (Dr) Vikas Chawla and Head of Civil Engineering Department Prof (Dr) Rajeev Chauhan welcomed Professor (Dr) Amritpal Singh Sagoo on his arrival at IKG PTU. During this, he discussed the possibilities of research and student exchange between the two universities. Prof Sagoo also informed the university authorities about construction management and quality survey. Professor Sagoo informed the students of the Civil Engineering Department about the current trends going on in various types of construction works including building construction. He also talked about the changes taking place in civil engineering at the international level and the inclusion of technology. He also visited various labs of the university.

On this occasion, Prof. H.S. Rai from Civil Engineering Department of Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College (GNE), Ludhiana, Dr. Anshu Tomar from CGC Jhanjeri, IKG PTU Faculty members Dr. Sanjeev Bansal, Dr. Sanjay Goyal, Er. Annu, Er. Mohit Talwar and others were present.
