IKG PTU Assistant Professor becomes ANO after training
Honored as Lieutenant after training under Ministry of Defence Government of India
Jalandhar/Kapurthala ( ) Assistant Professor of IK Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKG PTU) Dr. Naveen Kumar Sharma has been honored as Lieutenant after training under Ministry of Defence Government of India. It’s a Proud movement for our NCC department IKGPTU Main Campus Kapurthala. It is a premier achievement of an NCC department.
Dr Naveen Kumar Sharma, Assistant Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering, I. K. Gujral Punjab Technical University, Main Campus Kapurthala Punjab completed a three-month intensive PRCN training course conducted from January 05 2026 to April 04 2026 at Officers Training Academic, Kamptee, Nagpur, Maharashtra, India, following the guidelines of the Directorate General of NCC. Dr Naveen, who earlier served as Caretaker Officer of the NCC Army Wing in the University, had now been formally commissioned under the Ministry of Defence, Government of India Associate NCC Officer (ANO), Lt. Dr. Naveen Kumar Sharma, on successfully completing the rigorous PRCN Course at the prestigious NCC Officers Training Academy (OTA), Kamptee.
The achievement is being hailed as a matter of pride for the institution and the local community. Performance during the training, bringing immense honor to the 21 PB BN NCC, Kapurthala by earning the Certificate of Appreciation for outstanding “Proficiency in Flag Area Briefing.”
Dr Naveen Sharma praised the consistent performance of NCC cadets under the guidance of dedicated officers, highlighting their achievements at national and international levels. He termed the achievement as inspirational for the youth and encouraged students to take part in NCC activities to develop discipline and leadership qualities.
