Three-week Students Induction Program (SIP) inaugurated by VC IKGPTU on the new academic session 2025-26

– 03-week Students Induction Program (SIP) started at IKGPTU on the new academic session 2025-26

Jalandhar/Kapurthala “School education is related to strengthening the foundation and to understanding the culture & our values. College and university level education is related to better construction on the same foundation. Dear students, now is the time to study and move forward responsibly in the interest of the country, society and family.” This message was given by the Vice Chancellor of I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKG PTU) Prof (Dr) Susheel Mittal to the students of the new academic session 2025-26 taking admission in the university. He was addressing the inaugural session of the 3-week Students Induction Program (SIP) started in the university on the new academic session. Vice Chancellor Prof (Dr) Mittal addressed the subjects like current academic trends, market requirement, subject dependency, campus discipline, teacher-student dialogue and respect, ideal behavior and taking everyone along ahead. He inspired all the students to stay positive with progressive thinking.

This program started with lighting the lamp and “Maa Saraswati Vandana”. On this occasion, Dean Academics Prof (Dr) Vikas Chawla and Dean Student Welfare Prof (Dr) Satbir Singh were also present on the stage. Addressing the students, Dean Academics Prof (Dr) Vikas Chawla gave the message of taking class education seriously, talking to teachers about studies without hesitation and maintaining university discipline.

This induction program will continue till 15th August, in which various types of activities will be conducted. 250 students participated during this program. The training program comprises various sessions focused on holistic development, helping students understand the larger purpose of life and form a clear vision for their personal and professional lives. One of the major highlights is the Universal Human Values module, which gives students a broader perspective towards life and guides them in finding ways to move towards their goals. The Creative Practices module also engages students in activities like music, singing, dancing, theatre, debate, sculpture and painting, thereby nurturing their creativity and self-expression.

During the inaugural interaction, the Vice Chancellor, Dean Academics, Dean Student Welfare, and various Heads of Departments interacted with the newly admitted students and inspired them by sharing key messages from their own life journeys. Faculty from all departments, officers and University staff members were also present on the occasion. With this initiative, the university aims to lay a strong foundation for balanced growth in knowledge, values, and creativity among its new students.
