I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University in Kapurthala organized a five-day Faculty Development Program on Experimental Learning on Mobile Forensics.

A five-day Faculty Development Program (FDP) organized at I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University, by the Computer Science Engineering (CSE) department and the Center for Executive Education, under the project Information Security Education and Awareness Program(ISEA) sponsored by Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India. The programme held from 20th Jan to 24th Jan, 2025. The online program, focusing on “Experimental Learning on Mobile Forensics,” was inaugurated by the university’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Sushil Mittal. He emphasized the critical need for information security education in the present context, stating that it is more important to educate students on this subject than for teachers to simply have knowledge of it. He urged the participating faculty to understand the gravity of the subject and move forward. Dr. S.K. Misra, the University Registrar and Head of CEE, who was the special guest at the program, congratulated the university’s Computer Science Engineering department and thanked the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology for conducting the program. Dr. Misra stated that the reality of the subject is connected to everyone daily, as securing information is crucial in the era of the IT revolution. Dr. Monika Sachdeva, Professor and Director of Mohali Campus, and Dr. Rajiv Bedi, Associate Professor and Head of the Computer Science Department, also addressed the program. The various sessions on the first day of the program were conducted by coordinators Dr. Raman Kumar and Dr. Dinesh Gupta, both Assistant Professors in the Computer Science Department. Deputy Registrar Public Relations Rajnish Sharma from the Center for Executive Education was also present at the inaugural session. University programmer Deepak Sidana from the university’s IT department provided virtual mode support for the program’s success.
