IKGPTU IIC organized a Workshop on Creativity and Innovation

Jalandhar/Kapurthala I.K.Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKGPTU)’s Institutional Innovation Council (IIC) organized a workshop on creativity and innovation at the main campus. In the mentorship of Prof. (Dr.) Susheel Mittal Vice Chancellor & in the motivation of Dr S K Misra Registrar, the workshop session was joined by 150 students of Kendriya Vidyalaya-1, RCF, Kapurthala, along with faculty and students attended this workshop. The grooming session led by Er. Vishal Sharma, Sr. Researcher and Chief Mentor at the Innovation Hub, Pushpa Gujral Science City. The University authorities appreciated the initiative of the IIC team.

Addressing the audience, Er. Vishal Sharma, a seasoned mentor in the field of innovation with over 13 years of experience, shared his insights on fostering creativity and the importance of out-of-the-box thinking in today’s competitive landscape.

Following the workshop, the students visited two of the university’s premier facilities: the Knowledge Resource Centre and the Centre of Invention, Innovation, Incubation & Technology (CIIIT) which was led by Dr Jujhar Singh from the Mechanical Department.

Dr Susheel Mittal, Vice Chancellor, IKG-PTU said that the event was a significant step towards strengthening academia-industry linkages and promoting a mindset of creativity and innovation among young minds. IKG PTU remains committed to nurturing talent and driving forward its vision of becoming a hub for technological and entrepreneurial excellence.

Dr S.K. Misra, Registrar stated that these visits provided participants with hands-on exposure to cutting-edge research tools, technological advancements, and collaborative opportunities that foster an ecosystem of innovation and skill development. Dr. M. S. Bedi, Assistant Director, Business Incubation Centre, IKGPTU in his address, highlighted the university’s initiatives to promote a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship through its various incubation programs and state-of-the-art facilities. He encouraged students to leverage the university’s resources to transform their innovative ideas into impactful realities.
