IKGPTU VC Prof. (Dr.) Mittal participated in the one-day workshop of UGC and Bhartiya Bhasha Samiti
Jalandhar/Kapurthala I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKG PTU) Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Susheel Mittal on Tuesday participated in a one-day workshop organized by University Grants Commission (UGC) and Bhartiya Bhasha Samiti. This workshop was organized at Indian National Science Academy, New Delhi. The objective of this workshop was to connect higher education institutions regarding writing and translation of higher education books in Indian languages. Vice Chancellors of various big universities of the country participated in this workshop.
Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Mittal said that in the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, it has been emphasized that those students progress more who study in their own language. In such a situation, it is a big responsibility of higher education institutions to participate in this direction and take the preparation of books in Indian languages as a mission. He told that in this workshop, there was an in-depth discussion on how to take successful steps in this direction. Vice Chancellor Dr. Mittal said that IKG PTU will take better steps in this direction, efforts have been started for this.
