• IKGPTU inaugurated Student Induction Program (SIP) for newly admitted students at Main Campus

Jalandhar I.K.Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKGPTU) inaugurated the Student Induction Program (SIP) for newly admitted students at its Main Campus Kapurthala. As many as 300+ students participated on the very first day. The students were blessed by the senior leadership of the University, Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Susheel Mittal, Registrar Dr. S.K. Misra, Dean Student Welfare Dr. Gaurav Bhargav, Dean Faculty Welfare Dr. Satvir Singh, Heads of the various Departments, Faculty and staff of the University. The program began with the lamp-lighting ceremony by Vice Chancellor Prof (Dr.) Mittal with all other senior members of the university.

In his first address to Academic Session 2024-25 students, Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Susheel Mittal welcomed the students and parents. Through his long and rich experience of academic and administrative life; he encouraged the students to aim high and not be afraid by one’s own barriers. His key message to students was a call to focus on developing the Self-discipline, adherence to the timetable, self-evaluation every day, being responsible for oneself, practicing hard work and also serving society.

Dr. S.K. Mishra, Registrar (IKGPTU) welcomed and congratulated the newly admitted students for choosing the University. He motivated the students to focus on their studies and to achieve their goals as they are the future of our country. He also inspired the students to explore opportunities and to take guidance of the highly qualified faculty members of the University.

Dr. Gaurav Bhargava, Professor and HOD of Chemistry Department warmly welcomed the students in the inaugural session and shared about the many opportunities available for self-development of the students through NSS, Youth, Sport Club activities and how the indoor and outdoor activities of sports foster the growth of the students. He also encouraged the students about ensuring their participation in cultural activities through Cultural Fests and Youth Festivals of the University.

Dr. Harmeen Soch, Professor & HOD of Management & Hospitality Department, in her address to students, tenderly encouraged the students to regularly visit library and placement cell. She also suggested the students maintain a healthy balance between enjoyment and study time thus enhancing their time management skills essential to their academic growth.

Dr. Yadwinder Brar, Head Electrical Department, congratulated the student by giving a brief speech about the importance of time management and planning your schedule accordingly.
