KGPTU Management Department organized Expert talk to bring anti-drug awareness between Youngsters.
Jalandhar/Kapurthala The Department of Management and Hospitality at I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University main Campus Kapurthala Road organized an expert talk on “Drug: Use & Misuse” with the objective of raising awareness among students and faculty about the negative consequences associated with drug consumption. Prof. (Dr.) Vikas Chawla, Dean (Academics), IKGPTU delivered a welcome message to the assembled audience. He was special guest in the ceremony. University Vice Chancellor Dr. Susheel Mittal and Registrar Dr. S.K. Misra have encouraged all the departments to organize such awareness related events.
S. Daman Bir Singh, Assistant Commissioner of Police Jalandhar (North), Punjab was speaker of the event. He discussed the detrimental impact of drug addiction, highlighting its potential to endanger not only the individual suffering from addiction but also the broader societal fabric. He encouraged the students to assume the role of responsible citizens by collaborating in efforts to combat this societal problem, as well as aiding others in abstaining from the intake of diverse intoxicating substances.
The event was concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Harmeen Soch, the Head of the Department of Management & Hospitality, who expressed gratitude to S. Daman Bir Singh for interacting with the students. During this event, the faculty members Dr. Pooja Mehta, Dr. Rupali Batra, Dr. Sanjeev Bansal, Dr. Rajpreet Kaur, and all the guest faculty members were also present in the lecture.
