       Under the "Skill India" programme of National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), Now the I.K.Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKGPTU) Students will get certification from Skill Council. University singed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Tourism and Hospitality Skill Council (THSC), Gurugram (Haryana). The aim & motive of this MoU is to develop skilled manpower by the industry for the industry. On behalf of THSC Dr. Sunita Badhwar, Head Standers singed over MoU & from the side of IKGPTU Dr. Sukhbir Singh Walia, Registrar singed on it. Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Kumar Sharma, Vice Chancellor IKGPTU presides over the ceremony as Chief Guest. 

During the ceremony, VC Prof. (Dr.) Sharma said that MoU will establish a new skilled education era in the history of Punjab by serving well educated, certified & skilled manpower to Tourism & Hospitality industry. He said that the capacity & spirit of IKGPTU, its constituent campuses and affiliated colleges academia is very high to develop & serve the industry oriented pedagogy, syllabus & practicals. This initiative was also on high demand of state Tourism & Hospitality industry side. He assured that IKGPTU Colleges and campuses will take lead by these certified courses. VC Prof. (Dr.) Sharma congratulate to University’s academic department to take this initiative. 

Deputy registrar College Development Dr. Ekonkar Singh Johal introduced best thing of these courses. He said that B.Voc. Courses will offer multiple entries & multiple exits to admitted students. The students of these courses will get diploma certificate at the completion of one year, and after completion of two years, students will achieve Advanced diploma certificate. At the time of complete three year course, student will get B. Vocational graduation degree.
