The teachings of Shri Guru Nanak Dev ji have an important significance for the life. we all should well adopt his message for entire mankind to our life. Guru ji is a teacher for universe. We need to take guidance from Guru Nanak Dev ji’s message and take our life in the right direction. These inspirational words were delivered by Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Kumar Sharma, Vice Chancellor I.K.Gujral Punjab Technical University during his lead address as Chief Gust on the occasion of a special seminar at University main campus. The Subject of this special seminar was on the teachings of Shri Guru Nanak Dev ji. VC said that University is preparing a schedule to organize a series of seminars & events dedicated to the 550th birth anniversary of Shri Guru Nanak Dev ji under NSS & academic projects. 

He said that University is establishing a joint project with TATA TECHNOLOGIES at the land of Baba Nanak (Sultanpur Lodhi) as Shri Guru Nanak Dev Center for Innovation, Innovation and Inclusion. 

During this seminar, Dr. Kuldeep Singh Dheer identified the scientific inter-disciplines in Guru Nanak’s hymn and said that Guru Sahib has already reached the mysteries of science hundreds years ago. Dr. Dheer was main speaker in this event. 

In his research paper, a participant Manjinder Singh from Guru Nanak Dev University Amritsar discussed the difference between the life course of Guru Sahib and the current lifestyle. He said that in today’s era there is a need for self-restraint in front of the words of Guru Baba Nanak ji. Prof. Avtar Singh from Ramgarhia College, Phagwara said that instead of looking at the historic sight of Guru Sahib, there is a greater need to look at his spiritual vision. He said that the formula given in the spiritual training of Guru Sahib is relevant for all times at all times. 

Dr. Amarjit Singh from Sant Baba Bhag Singh University Adampur expressed doubts about the completeness of the review work done on the life of Guru Nanak Dev ji and said that Baba Nanak Bani needs to look at the references to the compositions of Janam Sankhi, Bhai Gurdas ji, Bhai Nand Lal ji etc. .

 

University Registrar Dr. Sukhbir Singh Walia shared with audience that the name of the newly developed auditorium of the university is also named after Guru Nanak Dev Ji. He said that by following the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev ji, students can achieve the heights of success. He inspired those students to join the hymns of Guru Sahib. 

Prior to this, Joint Registrar Dr. R.P.S Bedi welcomed the guests who attended seminar and said that University Student Welfare Department has organized various programs dedicated to Shri Guru Nanak Dev ji. He also shared his views on the life and philosophy of Guru Nanak Dev ji.

Director Dr. Yadwinder Singh Brar delivered vote of thanks. Stage was conducted by Dr. Sarabjit Singh Maan, Assistant Professor Punjabi. On this occasion, Assistant Director Youth Affairs Sumeer Sharma, Deputy Registrar Dr. Geet, Assistant Professor Dr. Barinderjeet Singh, Assistant Registrar Paramjit Singh Gill & other staff, students of the University were present. On next day an educational tour of 120 students, faculty members and staff also visited the holy city Sultanpur Lodhi and visited Gurudwaras related to Shri Guru Nanak Dev ji.
