To achieve maximum in professional life, everyone should be with his or her maximum capacity & on high willingness. Today's success mantra depends upon maximum utilization of sharp minds as entrepreneur. These inspirational words are of Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Kumar Sharma, Vice Chancellor I.K.Gujral Punjab Technical University. He was addressing to participants during inauguration of an Entrepreneurship Week. He shared a simple and popular definition of Entrepreneurship as "the activity of setting up a business or businesses, taking on financial risks in the hope of profit." Prof. (Dr.) Sharma said success of Entrepreneurship always depends on hard work & smart work both. So every student should understand that he or she is studying to become a job provider as Entrepreneur, study is not to become a job seeker.
This Entrepreneurship Week was organized in University from March 25th to March 29th, 2019. The motive of this week was to generate the initial spark of innovation in the students of University main campus.
Mr. Kaushal Singh, B. Sc. (Agriculture) final year student of IKG PTU affiliated college (GIMET Amritsar), shared his entrepreneurial journey with the students during the inaugural session. He also shared ups & downs faced by him during his business of sugarcane products with the brand name Cane Farms. He told students that "Never Say No" is the success mantra.
Other days of this week Rs. 200 Venture and Business Plan Competition were also organized. Students from all departments participated in these competitions. Entrepreneurial short movies were also shown to the students.
An interactive session under startup was also organized. Mr. B M Sharma, Addl. Managing Director (D), Markfed & famous Punjabi Comedian interacted with students at University main campus. He motivated the students to come up with the Agri Startups and assured them that their initiative would be connected to customers as Markfed has already been doing it in the past. He also inspired the students by sharing his story of following passion along with the Job. Er. Navdeepak Sandhu, Deputy Director, presented "Token of Love" to Mr. B M Sharma, AMD (D), Markfed.
